Hadlow United Vrs The Bell
22nd February 2004 (WKSL)
United crushed bottom of the table Bell with a convincing 9-0 victory in a match that gave a perfect opportunity for Hadlow to get to grips with their new line-up. Hadlow found themselves 4-0 up at halftime with 2 goals from Walsh 1 from Betts, his first of the season, and one from Wood. Halfway through the second half The Bell were controversially reduced to 10 men for a tangle with Goldsmith, who in turn received a yellow card.
The second half was academic and United turned on the style. The confidence oozed through the team as the ball was pinged about with accuracy. The scoreline was increased with further with Harvey scoring his second in two games since starting upfront, and his strike partner, Excell, ended his goal drought with two well taken goals. Wood grabbed the second of his brace with a shot that looped over the 'keeper. The scoring was completed when substitute Race, who impressed down the left, played a neat one two and finished confidently.
