Hadlow United Vrs Goudhurst United
9th November 2003 (WKSL)
United visited high flying Goudhurst and were surprised at the size of the pitch which was much smaller than they are used to, but nether the less. Goldsmith replaced the injured Betts and Harvey was stand in skipper.
United never really got started in the first half and the battle and comitment wasn't there and they went in at half time 2-0 down. In the second half things were looking up but after a long ball over the top Hadlow failed to clear and Goudhurst were 3-0 to the good. Five minutes later Carlton got himself in a mixup and lost the ball just outside the 18yard box and it four.
It was hard on United as they had the better of the second half. United claimed a consolation through Webb, who should have had a few more in the bag as well and Race put a good opputunity wide.
Miles left the field with a damgaed ankle and Cook took over in goal for the last 20 minutes.
A poor performance best quickly forgotten.
