Hadlow United Vrs Insulators Reserves

5th October 2003 (WKSL)

An understrength Hadlow team carrying injuries hosted top of the league Insulators, an old foe from division seven days.

United took the lead after a great ball from Harvey released Webb who raced clear and confidently poked the ball past the keeper to give United a 1-0 advantage.  A few minutes later the big striker was the victim of a flying boot and could only stay on the field until just after half time.  Walsh harmed his disciplinary record with a yellow card, again for retaliation.  United were made to work and were level at the break and then were up against it when Betts had to retire after the sprained ankle he sustained last week couldn't hold up any more.  Webb left the field of play after Insultors third and Walsh was soon to follow both with injuries.  Webb's injured toe showed no break in a later x-ray but the heavy bruising may keep him out of next week's cup clash.  Insultors added a fourth and were good for the scoreline, but when United are fit and absentees return the away fixture may prove to be a different story.
