Hadlow United Vrs Speldhurst Rangers
7th September 2003 (WKSFL)
The poor start to the season for United continued at Williams Field and Hadlow have some serious questions to ask themselves. This encounter started quite well for Hadlow and much of the opening 45 minutes was played in Rangers half. United deservedly took the lead after Harvey robbed the ball in midfield and threaded the ball through the eye of the needle to Webb who out-paced the defence and slid the ball comfortably past the stranded 'keeper.
At the start of the second half Hadlow were struggling with injuries to both full backs and when Speldhurst equalised. Walsh couldn't continue and was replaced by Dan Race making his home league debut. After the equaliser United lost the plot entirely and there was no cohesion between any of the team. Rangers added three more through set pieces and eventually ran out 6-1 winners.
The United dressing room was not a good place to be after a performance like that. Manager Jim Cook can't get back soon enough.
